Modern Family Star Sarah Hyland Granted Restraining Order
The modern family star Sarah Hyland has
just recently got granted a restraining order against her ex-boyfriend Matthew
Prokop.
In court documents obtained by TMZ the
files claimed that Matt terrorized her physically and verbally during their
5-year relationship.
The documents revealed that Sarah received
help from her Modern Family mum Julie Bowen to end the relationship with
Matt. Matt appeared in the TV show for a short time but while on set pinned
Hyland against a car during an argument about her outfit, grabbed her throat
and called her a “c***” over and over again.
"His
grip was so tight that I could not breathe or speak. I was scared and in fear
for my life," she claims.
Sarah
also revealed in the documents that she asked Julie Bowen and to come to her
house and help “peacefully end the relationship” with Matt. When Matt arrived
and saw that Julie was there, he “ran outside into the backyard and began
screaming” and threw a lighter at Sarah, because of this Julie insisted on
Hyland to the leave the house as she didn’t believe she was safe staying there.
In the
court documents Sarah claims Matt also threatened to set one of her homes on
fire, and also said she would never see her dog again.
Once the
relationship finally ended Sarah said that he "relentlessly bombarded me
with vile, threatening and emotionally disturbing texts and voice mails
including his own suicide threats."
The
restraining order requires Matthew Prokop to stay at least 100 yards away from
Sarah and her dog at all times.
